Day 299

Today I sport pink in support of National Breast Caner Awareness Month. In addition to wearing this Ashton Michael gifted bow tie from 80sPurple, I'll be sporting the color during the Men's Health Urbanathlon at Citifield tomorrow.

Speaking of the upcoming race, I've had the privilege of training with some amazing people. It just so happens that one of these individuals is one of the best professional tennis coaches in the business, Carlos Maldonado. Check out his website here and keep an ear out for his upcoming clothing line. I was blessed with the sample shirt you see me rocking down below. I don't always wear t-shirts, but when I do, I'm honored to represent Dead Set Inc.

Day 187

How do I beat the NYC heat wave? Try to look cool, of course. I can't do much about feeling cool, so at least looking so will have to do. Bow ties don't get much cooler than those that come with a chain attached. Check out this bow tie beauty from 80spurple.com. Stay hydrated, folks.

Day 95

So how did we fare against our scholars yesterday afternoon? Not bad! I think we ended up winning by 10 or more points and I enjoyed hitting the last bucket with 4 seconds left just to remind them who's boss. We won't talk about Khuvon's block early in the first quarter. That was my gift to him. That's my story and stickin' to it. Today we get to play the kiddos in soccer - trying to reach a different demographic of course, and completely more enjoyable for me, personally. I can't wait to suit up!

Today's bow was is an Ashton Michael original and a gift from the good folks at 80spurple.com. Like the other AMs I've worn, it's a pre-tied featuring two different bows and a d-buckle enclosure system. Very cool.

Day 61

I'm feeling very inspired to start making my own bow ties someday. If a ten-year old from Memphis is doing it, then why not me? Props to you, Moziah Bridges. I'm a fan.

Today's bow is another Ashton Michael gifted to me by the generous folks over at 80sPurple. This grainy laptop camera doesn't do this tie justice. It's made out of a striped black cotton/denim fabric and it's pre-tied, allowing you to keep genuine buttons consistently prominent. What's also particularly cool is that it features two types of bows - the diamond point placed in front of the traditional shape. You should definitely check out their unique collection of rare and stylish bows.

Day 34

Happy Friday, kids! Since it's Friday I decided to go a little casual and rock the denim vest. In addition to the amazing pink/black plaid bow tie (yes, that's a chain that's attached to the bow's straps) I'm super excited to floss my newest (and ridiculously comfortable) coordinating boots. The bow is an Ashton Michael original from 80sPurple and (because I know you're interested) the footwear is cotton candy/black Steve Madden 4 Cool People.

Day 22

Ah, Sunday morning. That's my lovely wife's finger popping into the frame at church as I took some quick pix of today's awesome bow tie courtesy of my new friends at 80spurple.com. Check out their collection of men's accessories (and more) here. This one's a pre-tied beauty from Ashton Michael and features a d-ring buckle closure system in the back. Pretty nifty, right?

Pictured below - the Vasquez boys also wearing their own bow ties. Both Javi and Lucas are wearing clip-on versions of a pair of customized ties created by Elle over at Xoelle.com. Luis is sporting a black/white plaid number that I found in a Hot Topic in Santa Monica last year.
