Day 231

Yikes. As I look back on this picture, I realize that I have owned this checkered shirt since  my first year of teaching. At 13 years of age, it's the oldest personally owned garment I have in my closet. No wonder it's coming undone at various parts. I can't believe I might have to tear this shirt up and make some bow ties out of it!

On to other stuff I can't believe. The nearest train station for my school is closing for the next few months so I've decided to start biking to work. I'll let you know how that works out. =)

Today's bow was acquired from a Rugby outlet store.

Day 94

If I could be like Mike. I wanna be I wanna be I wanna be like Mike. Remember that Gatorade commercial? I do. OK, so today's my version of the flu game - staff vs scholar 5 on 5 - winner has bragging rights until the next time we do this. I haven't missed an opportunity to play against students in the 12 years I've taught. I've never been on the losing side either. Let's go!

Today's tie was acquired at a Ralph Lauren outlet store a few years ago. It's hard to tell, but it features a few bees in a blue crest on a lovely shade of green. I'm still scared of pizza.

Day 68

Happy Thursday, friends! Hats off to the guy who single-handedly planted the seed to start this campaign - Aaron C. of 500daysofbowties.com. who just wrapped up Day 500. I'm honored to take the bow-ton and labor on. Speaking of laboring, I'm excited to announce that I'll be learning how to construct my own bow ties this afternoon. Necks Tuesday has graciously volunteered their time to take me through the process of sewing my own bows and teaching me how to use my wife's sewing machine. I can't wait to tell you how it goes!

Today's bow was part of a pair of Rugby bows I came upon at a Ralph Lauren outlet store a couple of years ago. I'm a huge fan of blues, browns and yellows getting along together. Can't you tell?
