Day 253

Uh oh. I'm feeling a head cold coming on. This means my training will have to be modified - or just put on hold for this week while I rest up, shore up my energy and make sure I'm ready for the kiddos today. I can't believe we're already into the 18th day of school. Crazy!

I hope you don't think today's combo is cray cray. I love pairing plaids and paisleys and today's bow is brought to you by Necks Tuesday bow ties. Check out Carlos' collection and let him know I said hey. He's such a cool dude that I'd totally be buying all his gear if I had more moolah to spend on bows.

Day 215

As the weather peaked at above 90 degrees today (although the A/C units were keeping things interesting where I spent most of my day) I decided to stroll about town in this get up. My favorite part - for once - actually isn't the bow, but this small piece of fabric that a colleague of mine brought me back all the way from Japan. It's likely enough to construct a clip-on bow but for today it worked so well with my shirt that I couldn't keep it tucked away any longer. This one's for you, Val!

The bow tie on the other hand is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. It was gifted by the nice folks at Speak Louder. Please check out their collection of fab bows by clicking here.

Day 210

Today was the first official day back on the job. Well, not really. The staff went on an offsite retreat to Norwalk, CT and we spent the day engaged in team-building activities. As excited as I am about starting my 6th year (and 13th overall) I really can't believe my vacation is over!

Today's bow is brought to you by Carlos from Necks Tuesday bow ties. Check out his selection of cool bow ties here.

Dat 192

Some surprises today ... I've been invited to write for two unrelated blogs - one on fashion and one on education and I'm humbled to get to employ some of my passion for writing! I also received a couple of new bow ties in the mail - including one from Dapper+Dash that came in this cool package. Stay tuned for what's inside! My final unexpected gift came in the form of the professional athletes who turned up at the Espys wearing a bow tie - including Jeremy Lin of the New York Knicks, who was apparently wearing one for the first time ever. Oh, you know I'll be reaching out to J.Lin to see if he wants to borrow some of my bows.

Today's bow came by way of Carlos over at NecksTuesday. He's got a totally sweet collection of bows. Check them out, here.

Day 170

Five more days of school. I have a feeling this week is going to get away from us rather quickly, which is no complaint at all. I'm just worried we'll (the collective team of teachers everywhere, I mean) miss out on what it means to really finish well. Here's hoping that you're running through the finish line and not just to it.

Today's bow was gifted from the cool folks over at Speak Louder. Check out their awesome stuff here.

Day 151

Oh, purple paisley. Where have you been? Do you remember when we first met? We performed together over three years ago with the Rondalla Cristiana Soldados de la Fe. This, of course was back when you just another necktie, a part of a sort of costume I wore when I played the guitar alongside the others in uniform. We've come a long, long way, and still you remind me of all things regal, regardless of your actual place in my life. It is a dear, bittersweet joy to reintroduce you to the world as a bow tie. I know you miss being near the instrument I used to strum, but perhaps there will be a chance for you two to meet again. For now, I am compelled to thank you, Xoelle, for making this moment possible.
