Day 158

Ok folks, so I'm officially out of my mind - strike that. I'm out of my comfort zone. I decided to put this training to use and signed myself up for my first Spartan Race. I know. Crazy, right? But is it really? The more mornings I get myself up to train, the healthier my food choices are becoming, the more resolve I have to evolve, the more I realize that our society's standards for living life to its fullest (think YOLO) are so skewed. Even with this crummy congested head, I haven't felt this physically alive in my life.

Back to anothering exciting topic - my bow tie of the day comes via Bonobos. I absolute love double sided bow ties.

Day 144

Oh dear. This is becoming my 'lucky' tie, if there could be such a thing.

This double-silk diamond point with gold paisley, hearts, and arrows has been worn on days when two unrelated people make some very specific remarks about where I'll be teaching next year.

I'm just glad folks respect the love I have for the classroom enough to know I prefer to stay in the classroom, regardless of whether or not I'm sure I'm in the middle of God's will for my life at my current school.

Back to what's absolutely clear - this awesome bow tie. It was a gift from Beau Ties Ltd. of Vermont. Check out their amazing selection here!

Day 32

Happy Wednesday, kids.

Today's bow comes by way of the ninjas over at Bonobos. It's an awesome double-sided tie featuring a minty seersucker and soft blue plaid. What's even cooler than this rad bow tie is the fact that the folks behind Bonobos are also supporters of education. In fact, their CEO, Andy Dunn, sits on the board of Blue Engine, an awesome outfit that works with hundreds of New York City students across three grade levels—eighth, ninth, and tenth—and three subjects—Integrated Algebra, Geometry, and English Language Arts.

Day 10

One more milestone accomplished today - well, sort of. Day 10 marks the completion of 1% of my challenge to wear a bow tie for the next 1,000 days. Although I'm commited to completing my challenge on my own I welcome anyone to join forces with me and wear a bow tie yourself, send me a bow tie to wear, or send me a picture of yourself wearing a bow tie. For those of you who may have forgotten, here's a reminder of why I'm doing this.

Today's bow tie comes from Randall over at bowties.com. Aside from the fact that the pink in the tie coordinates well with the pink stripes on my shirt, if you look close enough you'll see that this tie is actually made using two different fabrics. Pretty neat, huh? Well, I think so!
