Day 40

Yeah I see you back there playing with your hair. Demerit!

Call me crazy, but I decided to teach some grit this week in my math classes. They were getting too comfortable pulling of 16,17,18,19 out of 20 on their HW assignments (last year's class never averaged above 16) so I decided to add questions on topics that haven't been covered yet. I wanted to see if they had the ganas to either search for the answers to their questions on their own (using various websites that we already use as resources) or infer what the answers would be based on answer keys I gave them throughout the week. Unfortunately many quit on those questions. Even though they still managed to score 16 and above in some cases (I only inserted two or three of these types of questions) my students still knew of my displeasure. See, I don't believe in "incomplete" I reminded them. Nope. Do you believe in "incomplete?" How would Lucas (our 2 year old) feel if I had to change his diaper and did an "incomplete" job of it? Disgusting, right? I consider not finishing something you start to be just as disgusting.
Strict much? I guess.

Today's wonderful bow comes by way of ties.com. If you look closely you'll notice a pair of flamingos kissing to form a heart. My birthday (Valentine's Day) is just around the corner, kids. If you're not into wearing red on that day, you can always sport this lovely piece of craftsmanship.
