Day 103

OK friends - of all the bow ties I've had the pleasure to construct on my own this is close to being my favorite so far. I found this fuzzy cheetah print fabric less than five minutes from our apartment and enjoyed making a bow tie out of it. The Mrs. happened to be wearing the same print on her canvas kicks today so we ended up looking quite cute together today. And, yes, that's a pin from District 12. Nerds rule!

Speaking of great books - allow me to make a recommendation. Brad Meltzer, the New York Times bestselling author, has recently released a follow-up to Heroes for My Son (which I also highly recommend) called Heroes for My Daughter. According to the description you can find on Amazon, he "brings together the stories of fifty-five remarkable people, a diverse set of individuals from across time and from all walks of life: artists and inventors, scientists and explorers, who each dedicated their life to making our world a better place." Among those he profiles, Meltzer includes stories about Eleanor Roosevelt, Amelia Earhart, Anne Frank, Lucille Ball and Rosa Parks. Do yourself a favor and pick up a copy of both today - if not for yourself, for someone you love.
