Today my 6th graders amazed me by scoring a 100% on their exit tickets. It's the first time they've done that this year, and in doing so won the right to challenge me to a push-up competition. A couple of kiddos had challenged me a couple of weeks ago and when I completed 50 in under 1 minute (to their combined total of 7) I decided to start using it to motivate them to improve their academic performance. The idea seems to have lit a fire under some of the kiddos and they've consistently scored above 85% on said exit tickets. So how did they do today? Well, after the last victory I decided to alter the rules a bit so that I was competing against a combined score attained by two kids. We had one minute. Their combined effort turned out to be 58 push-ups in a minute. I dropped another 50. Yup. They get to brag for one day. Tomorrow is another day.
Today's bow was gifted by the kind folks at Speak Louder.
